Privacy policy

What we collect, why, who sees it, how long we keep it, and your rights under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.

Draft for review. This policy was written to match how the store is configured. It must be checked by the business owner, completed with the registered company details and GSTIN, and reviewed by a legal advisor before the store accepts real orders.

Who is responsible

G-13 ENTERPRISES, WZ-704-B, G/F, L/P Gali No. 18, Shiv Nagar Extension, Portion Shiv Nagar, Janakpuri, New Delhi, West Delhi, Delhi 110058, decides how your personal data is used on this site. Questions or requests about it go to our Grievance Officer: [grievance officer to be named].

What we collect

When you place an order: your name, delivery address, mobile number and email, what you ordered, and the car you selected, if any.

When you contact us or ask for fitting help: your name, mobile number, city, your car and your message. When you sign up for news and offers: your email address, and when you signed up.

When you ask for a return or replacement: the items, your reason and description, and any photos you send with the request.

When you ask to be told a product is back in stock: your email address, the product and when you asked.

We do not collect card or UPI details. If online payment is offered, they are handled entirely by the payment provider.

Your cart, wishlist and the car you pick are stored in your own browser. When you open the cart or checkout, the list of products in it (without any personal details) is sent to us to check the current prices. We do not use advertising or analytics cookies.

To protect the store from abuse, we count requests per internet address (IP address) for checkout, order tracking, coupon codes and the contact forms. These counts are deleted within a day.

If you create an account: your name, email, mobile number if you give it, your saved addresses, and your password, which we store only in a scrambled form that cannot be turned back into the password. We note when you sign in and changes to the account, such as a new password. Your orders appear on the account only if you placed them while signed in.

Signing in sets two cookies: one that keeps you signed in for up to 30 days, and one that only tells the page to show "Your orders" in the menu. Both are needed for the account to work. If you tick "Remember my details on this device" at checkout, your delivery details are saved in your own browser only, and you can remove them with "Forget them".

Sign-in, sign-up and password resets are also counted per internet address and per email, to stop password guessing. These counts are deleted within a day of the last attempt.

We keep the words typed into the search box, with no link to who typed them, for six months, to improve the search.

Why we use it

To deliver your order, keep you informed about it by email and phone, and handle returns, refunds and warranty claims.

To answer your messages and fitting questions, and to keep the records that tax and accounting law requires.

To send you news about products and offers, only if you signed up for it and then confirmed your address with the button in the email we send you. Every such email has a link to unsubscribe.

To email you once when a product you asked about is back in stock.

Who sees it

The courier delivering your parcel receives your name, address and mobile number.

Our service providers process data for us and only on our instructions: website hosting (Vercel), the store's database (Neon), and email delivery (Resend). Their servers may be outside India.

We do not sell or rent your data to anyone.

How long we keep it

An account is kept until you delete it. Password reset links stop working after 60 minutes, or 24 hours for a link we send you ourselves, and are deleted a day after that. The record of changes to your account is deleted after twelve months.

Order records are kept for as long as tax and accounting law requires, currently up to eight years. Messages and fitting requests, and our log of the emails we send, are deleted twelve months after they were created. Photos sent with a return request are deleted twelve months after the request is closed. Your email stays on the news and offers list until you unsubscribe. After that we keep only the address, marked as unsubscribed, so that it is never added back unless you sign up again yourself. If you sign up but do not confirm your address, it is deleted 60 days after our last confirmation email. A back-in-stock request is deleted 30 days after we email you about it, or after six months if the product has not come back. You can ask us to delete any of these sooner, including that record.

Your rights

You can ask for a summary of the personal data we hold about you, have it corrected or completed, and have it erased where we are not required by law to keep it. You can withdraw consent to news and offers at any time, as easily as you gave it, with the unsubscribe link in any of those emails or by asking us, and nominate someone to exercise these rights for you. Unsubscribing also cancels any back-in-stock alerts you are waiting for.

If you have an account, you can delete it yourself in Account settings. That removes your name, email, mobile number, saved addresses and password straight away. Orders you placed stay with us for the accounts, as above, and you can ask us to erase the personal details on them too.

Write to autoupgrade.in@gmail.com, or to the Grievance Officer above. We reply within one month. If you are not satisfied, you can complain to the Data Protection Board of India.

Children

This store is not meant for anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect a child's data without a parent's consent.
